From April 20, 2016 through May 4, 2016 the wooden floor was installed the engine compartment cables, carburetor, air cleaner, radiator, and the support brackets and bolts were installed.  The wooden floor was cut and the holes drill by Joe Rudy.  The floor pieces were copied from the original floor.  The jute was attached to the joints of the wood floor to seal them. 

 

The car was transported to J & F Upholstery on June 5, 2016 by North Central.  J & F used the original wooden frame and chicken wire that was removed from the car.  The wood was cleaned and varnished before the cotton padding was installed and covered it top with the exterior rubber and press fit molding.  The rubber top was secured with a rubber strip that pressure seals the top without adhesive.  The fiberboard headliner was reinstalled the light colored pieces were made by J & F the dark pieces were the original headliner pieces.  The door panels were copied from the originals and the luggage compartment was finished using the original pieces covered with black vinyl.  The original door panels, seats, arm rests, and flooring were replaced.  The front windows and cranks were installed.  With the upholstery, headliner, roof, and luggage completed the car was transported back to the garage on June 6, 2017. 

The installation of the front door window glass, window frame, and vent window were completed from June 6 through November 20, 2017.  The hood was redone because the warp in the hood was not corrected.  This early SE DeSoto had one hood support and closing the hood without lowering the support was a common problem.  The bend in the hood was repaired then it was sanded, primed, and repainted.  This was completed by Bill Estes March 18, 2018. 

From March 18, 2018 through May 10, 2018 the interior and exterior of the car was readied for the first car show.
